What is FRP?

FRP, or Fiber Reinforced Polymer, is a composite material made of a polymer matrix reinforced with fibers. The fibers are classically made of glass, carbon, or aramid, and the matrix is characteristically made of epoxy, polyester, or vinyl ester.

FRP is a lightweight and strong material that is resilient to corrosion, chemicals, and fire. It is also a good electrical insulator.  Umiya Poly Product

FRP is used in a wide variability of applications, including automotive parts, aerospace components, marine structures, and wind turbine blades.

FRP is manufactured by a procedure called layup. In this process, the fibers are first placed in a mold, and then the matrix is poured over the fibers. The mold is then heated and pressurized to cure the matrix. The resulting FRP part is strong and lightweight, and it has a smooth, glossy surface.  Umiya Poly Product
